Our Lady of Carmen, also known as Our Lady of Mount Carmel, is a title given to the Blessed Virgin Mary in her role as the patroness of the Carmelite Order. The title refers to Mount Carmel, a mountain range in present-day Israel, which holds significance in both the Old Testament and the New Testament.

According to tradition, the Carmelite Order traces its origins back to the prophet Elijah, who is believed to have lived on Mount Carmel. The Carmelite monks and nuns see themselves as spiritual descendants of Elijah and regard Mary as their spiritual mother and protector.

Our Lady of Carmen is venerated as the patroness of the Carmelites and is celebrated on July 16th in the liturgical calendar. The scapular, a devotional garment consisting of two pieces of cloth with a cord, known as the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, is closely associated with devotion to Our Lady of Carmen. Wearing the scapular is seen as a sign of consecration to Mary and a source of spiritual protection.
